Miller Park
Milwaukee, WI
Miller Park is a major league baseball park that seats 43,000 people. The facility was designed by Harwood K. Smith Architects of Dallas. The precast manufacturer was International Concrete Products Inc. of Germantown, WI.
Of particular note are the 475 precast panels in the building's façade, made with Lehigh white cement, which total 150,000 sq. ft. of architectural precast concrete. These panels have been integrated into the design with great utility and economy but they’ve also been used to achieve important architectural expressions of texture and detail. The integration of brick nesting into the precast panels with simulated limestone panels of a different finish has been skillfully accomplished.
The design incorporates a variety of precast concrete elements, all of which have been carefully crafted to represent traditional architectural treatments ranging from the replicated stone precast base to the more refined smoother cap details.
