History of the Plant
White cement production commenced at the Waco, Texas plant of the Lehigh Cement Company in 1969. Since that time the plant has produced consistent, high quality White Portland and White Masonry cements. Over the years numerous improvements have been made to the plant to improve efficiency and throughput and meet environmental standards.
Our employees have earned numerous safety awards, making the Waco plant one of the safest cement plants in the industry.
In 1980, HeidelbergCement Group purchased the plant as part of its acquisition of the Universal-Atlas Cement Division of U.S. Steel, and merged the operation with the Lehigh Cement Company. |
